Updated HDLC Design Guidelines for Review and Public Comment
In April of 2017, The New Orleans Historic District Landmarks Commission added four new Historic Districts: Mid-City, Uptown, Carrollton, and Parkview. To update the Design Guidelines to include the new districts, the HDLC retained the services of Preservation Design Partnership (PDP) of Philadelphia, PA. PDP authored the original Design Guidelines in 2010. Over the past six months, the HDLC staff has been working with PDP to update information contained in the Design Guidelines Document. The proposed drafts are available online for review. Public comment may be submitted online on the website below each chapter or via email to [email protected]. The sixty day public comment period is from July 3, 2018 through September 3, 2018. The comments will be compiled and forwarded to the Commissioners for their review and consideration. Two special meetings will be held, one for each Commission, to review and approve the proposed changes to the Design Guidelines. The date of these meetings will be announced in August, 2018. The public is invited to attend the public hearing and comment. Once the drafts are approved by the New Orleans and CBD Commissions they will be forwarded to the City Council for their review and approval. The revised sections will be posted on the HDLC website for a period of 60 days. The public may submit comments online. These comments will be consolidated and forwarded to the Commissioners for their review and consideration. View Design Guidelines Update 2018 Summary Comments are closed.
